Achoo!
Dareka uwasa shiteru!
(Someone must be talking about you!)
Achoo, achoo!
Now they're praising you.
...Or badmouthing. I'm not sure.
Achoo, achoo, achoo!
Gesundheit!
Now you're just catching a cold.
John let us out of class 15 minutes early, so the cafeteria was not yet open when I got there. So I sat on one of the stone benches just outside, ruminating over Toronto, Canada and how I might make it better. Then I started sneezing because of my allergies and this was born. Apparently the Japanese don't normally comment on other people sneezing, except to tell them that someone must be talking about them. Unlike pretty much everywhere else, they don't say anything along the lines of "God bless you" or "may you live long" or "health" or anything like that. Which is why I put "Gesundheit!" at the end.

Also I am very surprised that I actually wrote two pieces of poetry today. This has never happened before. Today was just a very poetry-y day, I suppose. At 7:00pm Kim Addonizio and Peter Kline's on-campus poetry reading. It was pretty cool. They played harmonica and guitar and Pete even sang a little, too.
